Ingredients of Dal Dhokli Recipe:
100 Gram Arhar dal
75 Gram wheat flour
20 Gram gram flour
4 cups of water
1 Tomato
1 green chili
5 Curry leaves
1 piece Asafoetida
1/2 tsp Cumin seeds
1/4 tsp Red chili powder
1/4 tsp Ajwain
1/4 tsp Turmeric powder
1 tsp Coriander powder
1 tsp Coriander leaves
2 tsp Oil/Ghee
Salt to taste
Method of preparation – How to make Dal Dhokli Recipe
To make Dal Dhokli, first, take the lentils (Dal) and wash them thoroughly. Now put the lentils/dal in water and soak them for some time. After some time, pour the lentils/dal into the cooker along with water and keep it for boiling. Turn off the gas when coming whistle in a pressure cooker and take out the boiled lentils/dal and a bowl when the pressure comes out.
Now strain the flour and gram flour in a vessel. Now add salt, ghee, and ajwain to it and mix it well. Now with the help of water, knead this mixture well & make the dough. Cover the dough for a while.
After some time take the dough and with the help of a rolling board and rolling pin (Chakala and Belan) take a big round roti. Now cut a long and wide strip with the help of a knife. Dhokli making mixture is ready.
Take water in a vessel and place it on the gas to boil. When the water comes to a boil, add chopped dhokli pieces and leave it to boil for 2-3 minutes. In a while, your dhokli will be boiled and ready.
After doing so, put ghee in a pan and heat it. Add asafoetida and cumin to it, after this add turmeric, curry leaves, green chilies, coriander and mix it well. After the spices are roasted, add chopped tomatoes and fry them well by adding red chili and salt.
Add boiled dal and dhokli to the roasted spices and mix well. Leave to cook for 2-3 minutes. After some time your delicious dal dhokli is ready, take it out in a bowl and garnish it with green coriander and survey the hot dal dhokli with Rice and Kachumbar/salad.

• If you want to boil dal and dhokli together while making dal dhokli, you can boil it.
• You can also make lentils/dal without using garlic and onion while making lentils/dal.
• Do not use sugar and lemon if you do not want to make lentils/dal and sweet & sour.
