What is WhatsApp Pay Service?
WhatsApp Pay has been undergoing beta testing in India for two years. WhatsApp Pay has not been launched in India yet due to some difficulties in payment method but now WhatsApp Pay will soon be launched in India.
This service is based on UPI. When this service starts, you will be able to send money to anyone at anywhere and anytime.
Users will get these benefits for the 1st time:
WhatsApp Pay service lets you transfer money to anyone’s account anywhere. This will be the UPI service. UPI apps are very special because they don’t just make payments, but they do many more.
At this time you can also use UPI with a number of apps like BHIM, Phone Pay, Google Pay, Mobikwik, Paytm
You can make bill payments through UPI. In addition, you can make an online payment to someone. You can also transfer money directly to a bank account (money transfer in account) and recharge.
According to NPCI’s website, a transaction of Rs. 1 lakh per day can be made from an account now. Under this upper limit, different banks have retained their sub-limits. You need to contact your bank.
Keep these 5 things in mind before use
After the launch of WhatsApp payment service (WhatsApp Pay), it is also believed that it will hit payment apps like Google Pay, Phone Pay, Paytm. While using WhatsApp for payment, keep a few things to keep in mind:
Works on UPI:
WhatsApp service works on unified payment interfaces (UPI), the same system that uses Google Pay, Phone Pay, BHIM, and other banks’ apps. So you don’t need to keep any money in the WhatsApp wallet. The money is in your bank account and the platform will help you transfer it to other users. WhatsApp will create a new UPI ID when you register for payment. You can find this ID by visiting the Payments section of the app.
Registration:
You must have a bank account and phone number to make a payment on WhatsApp. At the bottom of the payment, the screen can be done by clicking the Attachments icon, which you normally use to send photos, videos, etc. The app will instruct you to register first and allow phone calls and messages to be used. To complete the registration and make a payment, you must also set up a UPI passcode. If you have a UPI passcode with the already existing UPI app, you can use the same code.
Use with other payment apps:
You can use WhatsApp payments to send money to anyone who has UPI enabled, even if it’s through another app, such as BHIM, Google Pay, or Phone Pay. If the WhatsApp app is not registered for payment, the app gives you the option of entering a UPI ID. You can then enter their BHIM, Google Pay, Phone Pay, or other UPI IDs to transact.
Indian number only:
WhatsApp Pay can only be used for Indian bank account related Indian numbers. People who have their international numbers on WhatsApp can’t use them.WhatsApp launches payment service in India
Transaction limit and charge:
A transaction limit of Rs 1 lakh for UPI is also applicable to WhatsApp. Some UPI apps allow you to send money to people only by entering your bank account number and IFSC code. This feature is not yet enabled on WhatsApp.
